Exercise for Better Sleep

Sleep tips sheets often include a suggestion to get more exercise. Why is that? Physical activity can help to build something called sleep drive.

What is sleep drive?

Sleep drive is part of what regulates falling asleep and the quality and depth of our sleep. It's built up through the day through two things: being awake and being physically active!

You don't have to run a marathon to build sleep drive - incremental, small increases in your activity count too!

Have you noticed a shift in your sleep as a result of being more active? Please share your activities and observations in the comments!
