how to get rid of falling asleep in retrograde manner

Ive this problem that when i feel sleepy and try falling asleep, my brain calms down in 5 mins, and while I am on the verge of dozing off my brain gets a bit exited this is what I call retrograde and I lose the sleeping sensation, I don't have insomnia as such but this happens when I try to sleep. What do I do?

  1. I don't have experience with this specific situation, but I hope you find answers and you are also to get restful sleep that you need and most definitely deserve!

    1. , thanks for sharing. That sounds really frustrating to be on the cusp of sleep, only to lose that sensation. I hope that others in the community may chime in and share their experiences. People with insomnia report taking quite some time to fall asleep at night, along with other sleep issues, such as having trouble falling asleep after waking up (https://insomnia.sleep-disorders.net/symptoms), so I could see how what you're experiencing could be explained as insomnia. I'm sure you've tried many of these already, but here's some information on treatment if there's one you haven't tried before: https://insomnia.sleep-disorders.net/treatment.
