Anyone diagnosed with Alpha Intrusion?

I had a sleep study a couple years ago and was diagnosed with Alpha Intrusion, which means my brain waves don't go into deep sleep. I've been dealing with Insomnia for 9 years!! I've tried everything I can think of to get better sleep and nothing works. I take CBN gummies and 2.5 mg of Ambien - these help with sleep somewhat and don't cause daytime grogginess. However, real quality sleep, on an ongoing basis, eludes me ... 🙁 This affects all aspect of my life and makes me concerned about my future.

  1. I say you doing a pretty decent job to get those nap in moments during the night or day to help on top of those low doses of cbn gummies and light insomniac medicines. Maybe you should colsult a professional about an upped dose to the next or the next two doses up. Always do this in case your medicines stop taking effect after some time. I hope this helps, you can always reach out to me on this forum. P.s. I have restless leg syndrome and its still a bit on the mild side.

    1. Hi . My heart goes out to you. I have not found anything in our archives from anyone diagnosed specifically or soley with alpha intrusion, but many people who suffer from insomnia do experience periods of alpha intrusion. Did you doctor say that you never experience deep sleep or that you have an abnormal number of alpha intrusions per night? Do you see a neurologist who specializes in sleep disorders? If the level of intrusions you are experiencing is highly abnormal, you benefit by researching studies and contacting the doctors who conducted them. Often, researcher are so excited to find people with rare or unusual conditions that they are willing to work with them virtually, partner with their doctors or pay for your travel to see them. It might be worth a shot. I hope you get some valuable input from others in the community and some relief. Best of all wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

      1. I appericate you recommenbdation on this person with alpha insusion sleep insomniac problems. It could also be the brain's nerourones are over stiumlated in his or her case. Maybe caffiene intake also could be a causing factor, or if its a rare disorder as it sounds: clinical trial may be the only option to see if the medicines works. I pray they dont get the part of the trial were its the pelcabo effect and actually does something to stop the progression of his or her's disorder.

P.s. I hope you are doing well and alright tonight. This is serious but I hope you have a good night.
