How Do I Fall Asleep Completely?

I have insomnia for 8 months. I take Rivotril pills but they don't help me. I'm always half-asleep. I can't completely fall asleep. What do i do?

  1. Hi . I see you are new here. Welcome! Did your doctor prescribe Rivotril only for insomnia or do you have epilsepsy as well? There are many other treatment options for insomnia. Here is an article about them: https://insomnia.sleep-disorders.net/treatment. Maybe you can use the article to start a productive conversation with your doctor about trying something new. I hope this helps. Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

    1. I usually sleep from 10 at night until 8 or 9 in the morning. But all the time I sleep in a semi-awake state. I can never fall completely asleep. That is the problem. So during the whole sleep I am semi-conscious, and mostly I can hear almost everything around me. That's why I always feel tired and sleep-deprived during the day.

    2. Oh my goodness, I hear what you are saying, how frustrating. I find that listening to some music with a rain background helps me sleep better, I am not sure that it would help you though. I really do hope that your medical team can help get you onto a good combination so that you are supported on all fronts.

Please know that we are here for you.
