What can I do when lunesta stops working entirely same as ambien

What can I do for sleep when ambien or lunesta no longer works at all even when skipping a day or two

What can I do for sleep is there a better medication or a combination of medications I went to a sleep dr and they literaly had no thought an zero insights into what to do

Have others had this issue what has worked for them

  1. . I empathize with you. I have tried nearly every sleep medication on the market with little success. I am not sure what type of doctor you are seeing, but I transitioned to a psychiatrist after years of being ignored by other doctors. Psychiatry is not an inexpensive route, but they seem more open to trying different things and combining medications when needed. Though nothing has been a true solution for me, I have taken 3 mg. Lunesta with various doses of Trazadone in the past as well as combined with various doses of Doxepin. They worked temporarily. I have also been through CBTI (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia) twice and though it did not work for me, it has been helpful for some. I hope you can find a practitioner who is more open and informed about the various options available.

    1. Hi . I wish your doctor had been more helpful. Here is an article about treatments: https://insomnia.sleep-disorders.net/treatment. Hopefully, you will find something OTC or an alternative treatment that helps for those days when nothing else works. You can also check out the list of prescriptions medications help start a conversation with your doctor about better options: https://insomnia.sleep-disorders.net/prescription-drugs. I hope this helps and that you get some better quality sleep. If not, have you considered finding a different doctor or getting a second opinion- Lori (Team Member)
