Considering a different pillow or mattress

Has anyone tried a different pillow (ex. a contour pillow) or a different mattress to help get better sleep? What happened? Did it make a difference?

  1. Find that miracle foam (? not sure of name) mattress cover works well to avoid hip and back pain but not for sleep problems. Tried different pillows and hardness/softness of mattress is immaterial. Sigh. I am side sleeper only.

  2. ...I started using a contour pillow last year. My dentist suggested it because I was showing signs of TMJ. He told me I should never sleep on my stomach -- which is how I've slept most of my adult life.


    The contour pillow was difficult to get used to, but I find it comforting now. I am able to fall asleep on my back more easily now. Before, I would lie awake for hours trying to find a way to situate my head and neck. I recommend a contour pillow over a standard memory foam pillow any day.
