Prozac destroyed my sleep

My sleep has been horrible since taking Prozac two years ago and it almost killed me. I feel horrible in my sleep, can't fall asleep, haven't felt rested after sleep in decades. Took sleep study last week but didn't think I have apnea. My breathing is ok in my sleep. My dreams have been very strange since taking Prozac, but if I don't dream my sleep is still horrible. Also feel horrible after naps last 20 years.

  1. No. I told all psychiatrists since 2017 I was diagnosed with Asperger's (by a lousy Johns Hopkins Resident) and everyone ignored me, one Dr even yelled at me.
I have bunch of disorders including mood disorder, anxiety, OCD and been told I'm autistic and have to live with it.
I can't take anymore! Last dr almost killed me several times and didn't care! I complained and now banned from all practices in MD and DE!!
Saw Dr and therapist at Doctor on Demand and they were jokes! Dr gave me lots of blood tests then cancelled my appointment!
Dreams have been very strange last year and took Prazosin and lost interest in everything!

    1. OCD is not my main problem. I feel no pleasure and nothing has helped last 45 years, feel numb all the time and can not take it. Just been told I'm autistic, too. I can't take much more. My mood changes rapidly, as well. No one understands. I saw a therapist online last week and she played games and was deranged. She told me I haven't done anything! I've done more than most people - I've had dozens of jobs since age 13, exercised, played music, hobbies, travelled and nothing ever helped. Been hospitalized 28 times! Thank you for concern.

    2. My heart goes out to you. That must be incredibly difficult. - Lori (Team Member)

  2. BTW, I stopped Prozac year and half ago and not taking any meds now. I've taken every psych drug last 40 years and tons of shock treatment with no relief. Mental health system is a HUGE scam and I proved it! I asked a Johns Hopkins Dr how much she knew about mood disorders and she said "Not much". So all these Drs I've seen last 40 years have been lying to me!

    1. Hi . How frustrating to take something that is supposed to help stabilize you only to end up with insomnia. Sleep and mental health are so closely connected. If you could only find a way to get some healthy sleep, you might find your mental health improves as well. Have you ever seen a neuropsychiatrist? If you haven't, that might be a good option for you. Neuropsychiatrists are experts in both the Central Nervous System and in the chemicals that bring balance to the parts of the brain that control emotion. That kind of doctor might be able to address both your sleep issues and your mental health issues. Thinking of you and wishing you the best. - Lori (Team Member)
