What's the weirdest insomnia advice you've ever gotten?

From onion juice to lotion that cures insomnia, what are some of the strangest "cures" you've been told to try for insomnia? Did any of them help?

  1. The weirdest insomnia advice I've heard is to wear mismatched socks and sleep with a spoon under the pillow. These quirky suggestions lack scientific backing and are unlikely to help with insomnia

    1. Wow, . Who comes up with this stuff? If kids wear their pajamas inside-out and put spoons under their pillows, school will be cancelled too. Amazing how powerful that spoon is! I hope you have gotten better advice from your doctor. Have you found anything that helps? Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

  2. Onion juice? Never heard of that before.
And, can you buy it by the carton?

    1. I have heard that as well but is also came with a caveat that if your take enough to help your insomonia then you will have terrible bouts of gas. Have you found that to be true?

      1. While some of these suggestions may be harmless and even relaxing, there is little scientific evidence to support their effectiveness in treating insomnia. It's always best to stick to evidence-based practices, such as maintaining a consistent sleep schedule, avoiding caffeine and alcohol before bed, and creating a comfortable sleep environment. If you are struggling with insomnia, it's also a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice and treatment options.

        1. Hi , we definitely agree that it's always a great idea to chat with a healthcare professional before trying anything new. Thanks for the advice! Best, Allison (Team Member)
