RBD

Hello, I recently have been diagnosed with REM Behavior Disorder.
So chances are I have a night terror every other night sometimes two or three times in one evening. I have been put on several sleeping medication‘s and nothing seems to help. Currently I am taking a combination of Clonazepam and melatonin. Unfortunately my body is now use to the doses, so I have to increase the clonazepam . I tried to change my eating habits, working out hours, the use of meditation apps, and it seems that nothing helps. I am currently seeing a sleep specialist and I’ve been diagnosed recently with sleep apnea. I have tried the CPAP machine before and it does not stop me from having terrors, but I am willing to try it again. When I scream during my night terror sometimes I remember and sometimes I don’t even realize I was up. I have tried everything but Hipnosis. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this disorder. It’s a horrible feeling to get up every morning knowing your body is tired but your mind is alert. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hi RBD, I'm so sorry to read about your health and sleep struggles. My husband also experiences similar night terrors from PD and, for the most part, does not remember them too. (He also finds relief from Clonazepam, and ironically, I sleep better too.) Thank you for sharing and connecting with our insomnia community where others have been through similar situations. I found this article in our community and wanted to share with you: https://insomnia.sleep-disorders.net/clinical/nightmares
Please let us know if you see something in it to help and how you are feeling. We hope you find relief soon, Warmly, -Angie Hott, Insomnia.Sleep-Disorders.net Team Member
