How frustrating is it to wake during the night?

If you are fortunate enough to fall asleep, how frustrating is it to wake during the night? Some people manage to roll over and drift back off, but we know that's much easier said than done.

Do you have any tips for getting back to sleep after waking during the night? Anything that has worked for you? Anything you would advise others to never try?

    1. Hi . I see you are new here. Welcome! Were you trying to change your username? If so, I can help you with that. Do you see the light and dark blue icon at the top right corner of the page in teh black bar? Click on that and a drop-down menu will appear. From the drop-down menu, select "Account Settings." On the page that appears, you will see "username" with a box below it containing your current user name. Just erase that and type in your new username. Then go to the blue rectangular button that says "Save changes" and click on it. You can also add a profile image if you like. When you are done, just click on the blue and pink image on the black menu bar that says "SD." You''ll be back at the homepage. If it's easier, you can open our website in two tabs so you can refer to this while also making changes. I hope this helps. Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

  2. Every time I go to bed very early, I will wake up in the middle of the night. So now I don’t go to bed so early. I always go to bed between 11 o’clock and 0 o’clock. During this time, I began to try to turn on the sleep-aid video before going to bed, put it next to my bed, adjust the sound to a suitable one, and then turn off the light to sleep. I woke up in particularly good spirits during this period. I didn’t even know when I fell asleep. I slept very soundly all night, just as my BP Doctor smart watch reported.

    1. That is fantastic. Thank you for sharing your experience. How many hours do you get when you follow that routine? - Clair ( Team Member)

  3. No, I don't have a lot of luck going back to sleep. But the times I have succeeded, I've noticed a few things. First, I'm cold. If I get hot, it's all over. Secondly, I must have an empty bladder. If not, that's all I can think about. Third, I have to be laying on my right favorite side. Tricks that I use to trick myself into being sleepy is going over my prayer list, or doing easy, slow, physical therapy exercises that make me count, or trying to remember what I'd been dreaming about earlier. If none of those work, I grab a book or my phone because sometimes reading will knock me out. Sometimes meditation will calm me enough to help me sleep too. I try everything until I fall asleep, or give up and go watch TV.

    1. Those sound like some good methods for lulling yourself back to sleep, . I count backward from 100. It helps keep my mind from wandering to thoughts that might keep me awake. Do you often wake in the middle of the night? Warm wishes. - Lori (Team Member)
