Was sleeping okay now waking too early

I've been waking too early for about three years. Tried many herbal remedies. Now on trazodone and melatonin time release. About a week ago I started sleeping the full night!, which was great. But what was different?? Now, for the last two days, back to waking at 5am or 4am. Why? I have eliminated some physical reasons and now believe this is most likely psychological. Here are notes I took after waking too early …
Sense of safety?
Reassuring self talk?
Trauma CPTSD?
Self reassurance/self encouragement?
'Talk' with the insomnia?
Acidic stomach?

  1. Yes, I have a therapist, which is good news. The other good news is that last night I slept right up to the alarm going off! I know there's a reason but otherwise have not figured it out. Thanks for writing. I will post updates.

  2. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us, I am sorry to hear that your good sleep did not last. I think you have made some good notes there, some that I myself can relate to. Do you see a therapist that you could talk over some the the Mental health aspects? Trauma can be so hard to deal with and can impact so many aspects of our lives.
