Schizophrenia and Insomnia

I had insomnia since class 10th. I couldn't sleep at night after watching TV or phone 1 hour before bedtime.I managed those issues by not watching TV or phone late at night. After i got vaccinated i couldn't sleep at day or at night.

Also on my PC and phone i would see posts and ads of things that i had thought about in my mind.I never searched for those things or talked about them.I also sometimes get nightmares.I ignored these problems since they did not bother me. But after i got vaccinated and was not able to sleep at day or at night , i told my doctor everything. He said that underlying cause of my insomnia is schizophernia. I started taking medicine for both issues. I got many side effects from the schizophernia medicine ( fatigue, eye movement disorder , restlessness) but i kept taking it as i had hope that my insomnia might improve with time. Doctor changed my sleep medicines frequently as they worked for some time but failed afterwards. One day the insomnia became serious. The time started passing by slowly and i stood up from bed every 1-2 hour. I told this to doctor and he said that my insomnia and schizophernia are not related. I also told doctor that i feel that someone is able to control my body and cause changes in it and thats why sleep medicine work for some time only after which doctor has to change it. He didn't agree to it. After that i stopped taking schizophernia medicine.

i did not see those posts ,ads and nightmares while i was taking schizophernia medicine. After i stopped taking it, i started seeing them again. My parents also saw posts and ads but they didn't agree that they were related to the thoughts in my mind. I still see them. They dont bother me. What bothers me is that sleep medicines work for some time and fail. I have been stable for two months on a sleep medicine but yesterday i couldn't sleep. Also i am feeling cold. It has been 2 weeks since i started feeling cold. I dont have fever.

  1. Hi , I am so sorry you've had to go through all of this! Have you been able to find another doctor to help with your insomnia and feeling cold? We would definitely recommend seeing a healthcare professional to see if they can provide some answers. Wishing you the very best, Allison (Team Member)
