a sleep aide that worked for

I hope this isn't violating any terms on this forum but I just wanted to post this out here in case it helps someone. After stopping my antidepressants about 15 years ago, which was a nightmare, sleep has always been a issue for me. I sleep in a separate room from my wife and I've given up coffee and other stimulants as a result but still struggled to sleep at night. I've tried sleep meditations and other stuff but i never felt like i was "doing it right". So, i just continued to watch random youtube videos and over the years i found that certain videos made me fall sleep faster than others. Usually ones i was "slightly" interested in and didn't have a lot of action or excitement. Then I came across a Youtube channel by MadMorph which focuses on videos to help people sleep but focused on video games. This seemed to work well for me, since I love video games, and It definitely helped me sleep and inspired me to try it myself. It helped that my significant other says my voice is calming so i figured i'd give it a try. I'll leave a link here in case this somehow appeals and helps someone. If my videos don't work for you I'd recommend trying MadMorph too. He has a more traditional voice and style than mine. Anywho, I hope that this helps someone and hopefully I didn't violate any forum rules with this self-promotion... I just wanted to post here in the off chance it helps someone. Sweet dreams. 1. I'm not a member of the RA community but I will definitely check it out. My RA has gotten worse as of the past couple years as I've gotten older so it might be worth seeing what others say. Thank you for the recommendation!

    1. Hi . Thanks for sharing your videos and recommending the other You Tuber. As long as you are not profiting from the link, you are not violating any rules. I hope they help someone else. Do you still suffer from insomnia sometimes, or watching the videos been effective every night? Wishing you the best. - Lori (Team Member)

      1. i guess technically in the long term I could benefit from it but to be honest, it'd be pennies. I mainly made these to help people and for my own enjoyment. Not for monetary gain.

I do still suffer from Insomnia because of my rheumatoid arthritis and the medicine i take but the sleep videos have definitely helped me unwind. That being said, I think if you have a serious physiological issue, these won't be effective in treating that. But, if you just have a hard time unwinding, racing thoughts or are even nervous about going to sleep (after years of horrific sleep from my antidepressant withdrawal, this is what I struggled with) these definitely helped me fall asleep.

Thanks for your comment! It's nice to hear from genuinely nice people. Take care!

      2. This is such a neat concept and I think it's great that you decided to try making your own videos. Hopefully they will find the right people who need them. 😀

Are you also part of our RA community? You can meet others going through similar experiences there, if you're interested. The address is http://www.RheumatoidArthritis.net.

Thanks so much for sharing with us! You're always welcome here. -Melissa, team member
