I had always been a good sleeper — about 7 hours per night, usually with one awakening in the middle of the night, after which I would fall back asleep fairly quickly.
Then, I developed a psychologically stressful thought specifically about the second half of the night. This led to frequent awakenings during the second half of the night.
After each night like this, I felt sleepy, my sleep felt unrefreshing, and my cognitive functioning declined.
Eventually, I completely resolved the original psychological trigger. From that point onward, I was 100% fine psychologically in all areas of my life, including sleep. However, the same awakenings during the second half of the night continued for several weeks.
Then, at some point, I lost my sense of sleepiness 24/7. At that point, additional problems appeared: awakenings during the first half of the night as well, taking a long time to fall asleep initially, and being unable to fall back asleep after waking during the night.
Eventually, I was averaging about 5.5 hours of sleep per night with 4–5 awakenings.
I started taking Dayvigo 5 mg and later increased it to 10 mg. I have now been taking it for about a month. During that month, I averaged about 7 hours of sleep with 4–5 awakenings, mostly concentrated in the second half of the night.which mean I'm only sleeping half nights.my congative is really bad
