Hyperarousal

I got hyperarousal after a psychiatrist gave me some medications. What happens is when i try to initiate sleep there feels like a structure forms behind my brain that feels like a muscle flexed like a bicep, but something happens and that structure just abruptly blows away instantly thereby causing rapid heartbeat and twitching fingers. and it blows away my sleep and i have to un-necessarily take medications. Although AI is not an authority over it i described it the issue and it said that Locus Cerilious has gotten hyper-stimulated. I dont know what to do, can someone help me with this please?

  1. Hi. We do have some articles that mention hyperarousal in our archives if you'd like to take a look:

Beyond that, the best person to discuss this with is the doctor who prescribed your medication. They may want to send you to a sleep specialist as well.

Hope some of those resources are useful. -Melissa, team member

    1. Hi . Have you discussed this side effect with your psychiatrist? Maybe there is a different medication you can try or a supplemental medication that can negate that effect. I wish I had better answers. Unfortunately, we are not medical experts, so we are not familiar with this kind of issue. Gentle hugs. - Lori (Team Member)
